In fitness, you have to constantly change up your routine in order to challenge your body.
If you always run 3 miles at an easy pace, try running 1 mile as fast as you can. Sprints will help you become a faster, more efficient runner.
If you always do 3 sets of 10lb weights, switch that up to just 1 or 2 sets with 12-15 lb weights. Your muscles will get stronger and you’ll save time.
If you normally take a Spinning class for cardio, branch out and try kickboxing or boot camp instead. If you use the elliptical every day, try the StepMill or the Rower. Each class and machine challenges your cardio system in a different capacity.
and if you normally spend 10-15 minutes each day stretching or doing yoga, bump that up to 30 minutes to improve your flexibility and balance.
The key here is to make these changes often, every 6-8 weeks.
Don’t always do the same thing day in and day out because you know what? That gets boring for both your body and mind.
So, just when I think I have a handle on this parenting gig, (which I clearly don’t!), I decide it is time for yet another change.
Baby #3 is due around Thanksgiving. We are thrilled and terrified at the same time. My body and mind may never be the same, but I’ll still be here trying!
Have an active day gang!
