No matter how many little ones you have running around your feet, there is no denying that being a mom is a sometimes-stressful full time job.
From running for the groceries and scheduling in play dates to making time for your friends and making sure that you’re looking after yourself, chances are that sometimes it all becomes a little overwhelming.
In instances like these, it’s usually moms that suffer. The groceries still get done and the kids still get fed and it’s most likely their me-time that gets compromised.
Sound familiar? If so, it’s important to know that you’re not doing yourself (or anyone) any favors by not finding time to look after yourself and do the things that you want to do.
That said; the following is a rough guide for busy moms. It outlines a few fundamentals to think about, which will hopefully help you to stay healthy and live a truly balanced lifestyle.
Make good food choice and eat often
It takes a lot of energy to keep up with children but the truth is that most moms don’t know the right foods to eat that will give them that much-needed energy.
For example, when most women see the word “fat” on a product, we tend to run a mile from it. That shouldn’t be the case!
Omega-3s should be your best friend when it comes to fat intake. Foods that will provide you with this essential omega 3-s are salmon, eggs and nuts. Load up on the “good fats” moms and your body will thank you.
Green tea is also a great choice and is a tasty calming beverage for any busy mom. Proven to help reduce anxiety, it is also great for weight loss.
Talking of beverages, you should be drinking at least 8 glasses per day to keep hydrated.
Never skip breakfast
Most moms preach this to their kids so why aren’t they leading by example? Breakfast is, and always will be, the most important meal of the day so don’t skip it.
Having a healthy breakfast will kick start your metabolism for the day and leave your body feeling fresh and vitalized. For optimum results, a high fiber breakfast that includes natural yogurt with fresh fruit, boiled eggs, and wholeg rain cereal is the best choice. Wash it down with lemon infused water.
No gym? No problem
You don’t need to be a gym bunny to stay in shape. Going for a walk in the park before the kids get up for school or getting out for a jog in the late evening whilst they’re sleeping should be enough to keep you feeling fit and looking good.
When out running, jogging or walking in the early morning or late evening time, however, be sure to wear reflective clothing to alert motorists and other road users of your presence and be extra careful with your footing. If you do happen to trip or fall, there are personal injury solicitors who can always help you make the best out of a bad situation but do take precautionary steps as you don’t want to be out of action for a few weeks.
There are also many ways you can incorporate the kids into your workout time. Take the kids for a 30 minute stroll in the fresh air, go for a bike ride with them, do a lap of the park, play a game of basketball or bounce on the trampoline for a few minutes a day. There are always ways to get healthy as a family!
Take time to de-stress
It’s important to keep your stress levels low in order to have a sane mind and truly lead a healthy lifestyle. If you’re dealing with things that are causing you to lose sleep at night, make every effort that you possibly can to rectify the situation.
Whether you need to find a solicitor to help you get through a divorce or you just need to get something off your chest and tell a friend, taking action and ridding your mind of that heavy burden that’s causing you worry will enable you to live a much happier and healthier life. I saw on the Solicitors.Guru website that they have all kind of solicitors which can help you in any case. Just visit this website and you’ll see how easy is to find a proper solicitor when it comes to family law solicitors, personal injury solicitors, customer solicitor and others. There are many useful articles that describe legal aspects, provide all information needed. As for me I didn’t know about personal injuries claims and the article “claiming for slips and trips” really helped me.
All of the above are pretty easy steps but it’s all about taking action and actually following through and, as a busy mom, you owe it to yourself and your family to do just that.
