This is how important it is to research your hotel fitness prior to booking.
I got a room at the Hampton Inn and this is what I got—-a few cardio machines and a stack of medicine balls. This is what they consider strength training?! The heaviest ball is only 8 pounds! Even more frustrating was the room was tiny, so it was not even possible to create a circuit of any kind. I was very disappointed, but it was my own fault for not doing my research ahead of time. (side note: if you are a fan of ellipticals and treadmill running, it would definitely fit your needs!)
The next time, I chose the Westin because they advertised the WESTINWORKOUT® Fitness Studio.
The pictures on the web were nice but did not tell the whole story. This place was AMAZING!! Not only was it HUGE but it had a great selection of free weights, machines, and SPACE. I could not believe I was the only person in there and I definitely overdid my workout just because it was so nice and I had it all to myself.
Westin really does it right when it comes to thinking of their fitness minded guests! 🙂
How about you? Do you check out the hotel fitness center when you travel and if so, do you have a favorite?
