I was SO excited that a runDisney event was part of the Disney Social Media Moms conference. Even though it meant getting up at 5am after a full day of park excitement and activities, it was well worth it! (so glad I remembered to pack my Eboost!)
The 2 Mile Fun run took us through the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, which is simply amazing. I hope that someday my kids get a chance to play in a game there because it really makes you feel like a superstar athlete. As I ran through the stadium, I imagined the crowd cheering for me on my final lap!
It was a muggy morning and the sun was just starting to come up as I was finishing. Although I am a night owl, nothing packs a punch of AWESOME into your day more than finishing a workout prior to dawn.
I will have to admit though that I apparently missed the concept of the word “fun” in the description of the race! Yes, it was super FUN, but I had race mentality on and instead of running with a group of blogging friends….I was running to compete. Now, I feel a little dumb because after reading the other recaps, it seems like everyone formed some awesome bonds with other bloggers while running. I, on the other hand, raced the guy on the bike who was leading me through the course. Oh well. Lesson learned. (but hey, I can honestly say I “won” a runDisney race!) 😉
I did get a chance to chat before and after with one of my long time fave bloggers Stephanie (in the middle) and I also got to meet Ali Vincent. She is so sweet and full of energy! She is definitely an inspiration and I look forward to tuning into her new show Live Big.
There are many runDisney events to choose from and Disney never disappoints!
So if this has been on your bucket list for awhile, it’s time to sign up!
Disclosure: The 2-Mile Fun Run was an exclusive experience for attendees of the 2013 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, an invitation-only event at Walt Disney World Resort. We were provided with discount park tickets and accommodations. We were not asked or required to write any posts. My love of Disney and running and all things runDisney is my own!
