Some of you have asked about my official training plan and I have to be honest and say I don’t have one. (big mistake! Don’t do this at home!)
I was invited to run this race just 4 weeks ago which gave me only about 6 weeks to train. If you are a runner with a solid mileage base this should not be an issue. For most people though, you need a good 12 or even 18 weeks to properly prepare your body to run 13.1 miles. I like to use training plans from Hal Higdon or Runners World. In the past these have helped me run some fantastic races with great finishing times.
This will not be the case at Disney though! Life happens, snow happens, and husbands travel. I’ve said all along my training has been sporadic (at best), so I am just looking forward to running with my fellow princesses (and her & her too!) and just enjoying the process. I might have to do some walking and that is okay. There will be plenty of fun sights to take in and it will be warm! (no more two foot snow drifts getting in my way!)
I plan to cross that finish line with a smile on my face no matter what the timing clock says. (well, since I am exclusively breastfeeding my little bitty guy, I might cross with more of a wince on my face!)
Never underestimate the power of a workout gang!
