notebook.jpgIf you are looking for a great fitness journal, please visit Go Workout Mom and sign up for Cindy’s motivator newsletter. She will send you her First Year Fitness Journal, which includes all the information you need to get started with your fitness program and stay on track.

The journal is based on Cindy’s 10 babysteps for Mom’s fitness journey and really gives you a plan for making fitness a part of your life. I like how Cindy prompts us with reflection questions at the end of each step, such as “What activities do I most enjoy?” and “What is my biggest challenge in setting time aside for myself?” Not only does it give you a chance to really focus on yourself, but it will provide a history for your progression so that in a few months you can look back and think “wow, I really enjoy this now or I have completed that 5k I signed up for!”.

The journal also provides a personal assessment sheet for you to track your before and after statistics. Remember, it is not just about the number on the scale, you want to see inches lost!

You can easily keep track of all your workouts exercises with weekly charts and also track your food group intake with a really creative tracking sheet. (which is now hanging on my fridge so I can check off when I get my necessary servings of vegetables each day!)

The food chart also has a box for “Goal of the Week”. This is another important item to put in writing each week and have readily available, just in case you “forget”.

My favorite part of this journal is the personal contract page. It encourages you to write down your short, mid, and long term goals in nutrition, cardio, and flexibility. With each goal, comes a specific reward. Cindy suggests using massages, pedicures, or a new outfit to fit the new you! The personal contract will help keep you accountable on your fitness journey, especially on these cold winter days when you just don’t feel like getting up to exercise or when you are tempted to eat comfort food instead of a healthy alternative.

I love how Cindy refers to her road to fitness as a journey, because it truly is. We may not all get there at the same time, but we are all on the same road and hopefully headed in the right direction.

To get your copy of her First Year Fitness Journal, head on over to Go Workout Mom and sign up for the newsletter.

Now, have you been active today? I taught two classes this morning and I am wiped out!
Tell me what you did today?

To maintain health, it is important that you use fitness equipment regularly. It may be the treadmills or may be the bowflex as well. You can also use the kettler.

Did my pilates, then grocery shopping, then cleaned the house. Finally, took the kids and dog out to play!

Thank you Lisa for the review. Two classes?! Awesome. My activity level was cleaning and mopping floors. I had let the house go for too long. It was a Housecleaning Marathon, yesterday. Today, I hope to get a good long run in when it warms up a bit outside.
