    If my legs could talk

    running.jpgDear Lisa,

Thank you for the intense run on the treadmill this morning. I know your brain was telling you to skip your workout and tackle your to-do list, but we are glad you chose to work us instead!

Next time though, can you please stretch us after running? We know you were in a rush, but we are feeling really tight and unhappy. You know that stretching is so important, especially after a tough workout, so please remember to make the time for us. If you forget which stretches are good for us, you can always reference this excellent book. Even a few downward dogs would help us out a lot!

Thanks again and please give us the chance to be active again tomorrow.

    Love,
    your legs

If your legs could talk, what would they say today?

Interesting thought. Mine would say, “Thank you for doing your 10 mile run two days before, rather than the day before, heading up to Tahoe for snowboarding.”

They’d probably also say, “You know, you’d love us a lot more if you’d stay away from the Christmas candy! There’s only so much that squats, lunges, and kettlebell swings can do!”

Mine would say “Thanks for walking the dog last night. Me and your eyes were talking about how pretty all the holiday lights are. We know it was hard, and that you were tired after being awake for nearly 24 hours with your two congested kids, buying and giving their teachers and tutors presents, meeting with them after school, and cooking, cleaning, and doing all the stuff you usually do. BTW, your arm is telling me it’s pretty sore from trying to pat yourself on the back.”

Thanks for the reminder, Lisa’s Legs. I am horrible about stretching - horrible! And I pay for it greatly. I need to get a good routine that just becomes second nature. I find I’m standing there trying to think of how to stretch!

      Mine say the SAME thing!

      I need to stretch more.
