    Crunchy bars to the rescue!

    By workoutmommy | December 18, 2007

The kind people over at Kashi sent me some snacks after reading my review of their delicious pizza! I really love their products so I was very excited when my package came in the mail.

I received two different flavors of their GoLean Crunchy! Bar—Cinnamon Coffee Cake and Chocolate Pretzel. I am a chocolate type of person, so I dove right into the Chocolate Pretzel flavor first and was not disappointed! It tasted similar to those wonderful chocolate covered pretzels that call out my name in the bulk food aisle at Wegman’s. Instead of being full of fat and calories though, this crunch bar is full of good stuff. (and tasty too!)

GOLEAN Crunchy! bars are designed for an Optimized Glycemic Response with slow release carbohydrates to balance blood sugar, and protein and fiber to help you stay satisfied. In other words, you won’t be hungry an hour after eating one!

chocpret.jpg The Chocolate Pretzel flavor has:

It is the perfect post-workout snack or for breakfast on the run! I really liked this flavor because not only was it tasty, but it kept me feeling full for several hours. It also didn’t have that weird aftertaste that other bars usually have. I will definitely look for it the next time I go shopping.

cinnchip.jpgThe second flavor was the Cinnamon Coffee Cake. It contains:

I ate this in place of a breakfast one morning and found that it kept me full and happy for several hours. It isn’t my favorite flavor though, because I’m much more about the chocolate, but it still was very good. If you are the type that can’t pass up the coffee cake at your morning meetings, then this is the bar for you!

Many thanks to Kashi for sending me these delicious bars and getting the chance to review their excellent products.

Kashi products are always in my cart at the store, how about yours?

I just got back from the store where, on your recommendation, I picked up both flavors. I’m having the coffee cake one now - Oh. My. Gosh! Fantastic! Thanks for posting about them!

I’ve been looking for some good “crunchy” granola bars. It seems like all the low cal ones are chewy. Thanks for bringing them to my attention.
