    Skip the shopping!

    shopping.jpgInstead of shopping this Black Friday how about using the time to workout instead? Some stores are opening at 4am, which I find outrageous. Ironically the same people who tell me they can’t get up early to workout are always the ones racing for the deals before the crack of dawn on Black Friday. Interesting, huh?

    Anyway, unless you are a power shopper that will run and lunge through crowds and force yourself to do 25 push ups with every purchase, you are not going to get much in the way of activity at the mall. (and if you do any of this, please take a video of it and email it to me!)

    So we are going to save money and burn calories by doing some fun activities such as running, swimming, biking, or jumping rope. Then, we can head on over to Yahoo Health, where it will tell us the approximate number of calories we just burned.

    If I run for an hour (at a 10 minute mile pace) I will burn approximately 625 calories!

    If I bike for an hour (at a moderate pace) I will burn about 430 calories!

    and if I just decide to dance around the kitchen for 30 minutes because I didn’t have to cook anything for Thanksgiving then it’s another 51 calories gone!

    Much more fun than shopping, yes!?

    So leave the kids at home and head out for your own Black Friday workout. Sweat ’til you drop.
    (Then come home and do all your shopping online.)

      Needless to say, shopping is not on my list of things to do today. Who in the h*ll gets up at 4am to shop? They could barely get me up to give birth at 4am! Powerwalk, situps, pushups, pullups, and nap. How does that sound?
