    Workout Wednesday: prison pushups

The title got your attention, didn’t it?

This is one of my favorite workouts! It is very challenging, but tons of fun.
Please listen to your body and do the best that you can.

Remember our perfect pushup form from last week? I was extremely sore after all the pushups I did that day, so I need to make pushups a consistent part of my fitness routine. Since I think they can get a little boring at times, here is a creative way to spice up your everyday pushups! (remember–your pushups can be modified by doing them on your knees!)

    1. Grab a deck of cards
    2. Turn over the first card and do as many pushups as the number on the card. (face cards=10 pushups, aces are high!)
    3. REPEAT!!!!!
    4. Take a one minute break after 5 cards.
    5. Bonus challenge: complete the entire deck!

This is a tough workout that can be done anywhere! For those of you that travel occasionally for work, don’t forget to pack a deck of cards in your bag. You can also make this a family event—get the husband or kids involved. Have one person read the card number while the others are working.

    Fitness is FUN!!!!
Get moving and enjoy your energy!!

Ouch, wouldn’t be able to finish the entire deck. Anyway your idea is fun, next time me and my buddies play card together again, the loser will draw a card and do push up or sit up according to the number.

Nap Warden–you are a better dude than me!

and I couldn’t make it through the whole deck either. More reason to do this one more often!
