<p>What the heck was I thinking?!  I&#8217;m used to running race &#8220;courses&#8221;,  not  &#8220;battlegrounds&#8221;!  The website describes it as &#8220;3.11 hellish miles&#8221;.<br />
ACK!!!!!</p>

<p>It&#8217;s really hard to ignore a goal when it stares you in the face all day long.</p>
<p>It also makes for great fun for my kids!  <em>(and yes, I&#8217;m a little jealous of their six packs and strength!) </em></p>

<p>A new year.</p>
<p>a fresh start.</p>
<p>a clean slate,  yes?</p>
<p>I normally don&#8217;t do resolutions <em>(because I usually break them before noon)</em> but this year I have just one and it is to <strong>LIVE</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>LIVE</strong> life.<br />
I&#8217;m going to take it by the <span style="text-decoration: line-through;">balls</span> horns this year and squeeze every last drop of LIFE out of it that I can.</p>
<p>So I am logging off right now and going to find/create/enjoy my awesome!</p>

</p><p>Hello, remember me?<br />
It&#8217;s been awhile!</p>
<p>Now that we have started a new month, it&#8217;s time to get some new goals on the books.   For me, that means:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Better, cleaner eating</strong>.  Goodbye JUNK, hello fresh and unprocessed foods!  Have you seen the website <a href="http://www.100daysofrealfood.com/" target="_blank">100 days of real food</a>?  I need to make it my best friend.</li>
<li><strong>Exercise!</strong> Although I haven&#8217;t gotten the all clear from the doctor yet, I&#8217;m trying to do some power walking and light jogging.  I&#8217;ll be honest though, it isn&#8217;t pretty.  I&#8217;ve got a long road ahead of me but hopefully  I&#8217;ll be running another half marathon this spring.    I also need to get back to my favorites&#8211;KETTLEBELLS!</li>
<li><strong>Positive thinking.</strong> I need to do this. I need to MAKE myself do this.  Being a stay at home mom of 4 little boys is just emotionally exhausting.  At the end of the day I usually want to dive head first into a tray of brownies just to keep my anxiety in check.    So instead of doing that, I need to just think positive happy thoughts and breathe.   (very deeply)</li>
</ul>
<p>My PRIMARY goal is to get back to my pre-kids weight, which right now means I need to lose just under 40 pounds.<br />
ACK.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m giving myself 11 months to do it though.  It&#8217;s going to suck but in the long run I know it will be worth it.</p>
<p>So that is what is going on in my end of the world,  how about YOU?<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>It’s Monday gang, which means it is time to shake off the weekend and get moving!</p>
<p><img src="http://workoutmommy.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/onehundred125x125.gif" alt="onehundred125x125" width="125" height="125" align="right" />Today&#8217;s challenge? Pushups!  If you haven&#8217;t already done so, I encourage you to sign up for the <a href="http://www.hundredpushups.com/index.html">100 pushup challenge</a>.</p>
<p>I jumped into this challenge three weeks ago and have seen a considerable increase in the number of full body pushups I can perform.  (started with 5, now I can do 17!)</p>
<p>Week 3 was <em>very</em> challenging for me, so I have decided to hold myself back and repeat it.   I want to focus on quality pushups with perfect form, so I think an extra week will give me the chance to build the strength that I need.</p>
<p>Here is my plan for today:</p>
<ul>
<li>15 pushups, rest for 60 seconds (or more)</li>
<li>12 pushups, rest for 60 seconds (or more)</li>
<li>12 pushups, rest for 60 seconds (or more)</li>
<li>10 pushups, rest for 60 seconds (or more)</li>
<li>Max! 15 pushups or more</li>
</ul>
<p>That gives me a total of 64+ pushups for today, which is a great way to start a Monday, yes?  (Yes!)</p>
<p>On top of this, I plan to do 45 minutes on the spin bike for a cardio workout as well.</p>
