I’m ready for winter to end, how about you? There has only been one snowstorm here where I live, but that is enough for me. I’m just like a lizard—I love the hot sun and the humid air. These cold mornings and long dreary days make me very depressed.
On the upside, I noticed the summer clothing and bikinis are out at Target, so that must mean summer is right around that corner. (yes?!)
Here are a few things I miss about summer:
I miss running outside.
I miss the heat and humidity.
I miss beach life.
I miss longer days of sunshine.
I miss hanging out at the pool for hours on end.
I even miss mowing the lawn!
I am surviving by focusing on my mantra “summer bodies are made in the winter”.
I aim for 5 solid workouts each week, with emphasis on heavy weight training. I do need to dust off my running shoes and ramp up my cardio since I signed up to run a 10k in April. I also have the Tough Mudder on the horizon…….more about that later.
Here is a great combination to work your glutes.
- 10 weighted squats/band optional (my favorite resistance band is the Slingshot Hip Circle)
- 20 box jumps
- 8 weighted step ups/each leg
