How is the gym on a Carnival Cruise?
It was awesome! I was VERY impressed by the gym on the Carnival cruise I went on last month.
Yes, you read that right. I ran away for a few days to the Bahamas and it was AMAZING!)
No , this is not a sponsored post and Carnival did not pay for my trip or ask me to write a post. I found an awesome deal and decided that I needed some sand in my toes. 🙂
Pros of gym on a Carnival Cruise: The cruise itself was incredible and I have to admit I expected a really crappy gym to be on board. It was an older ship and I envisioned some ancient treadmills with a med ball or two. When I walked in and saw all the free weights, I might have squealed a little bit!
The equipment was also top notch and there was enough there to get a full body workout and then some.
Great job Carnival!! If you ever need a blogger to review your other ships, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
Was it busy? Not really, although we went right before lunch time. Maybe it was packed in the mornings, when they offered early morning yoga or spin classes, but we definitely did not get up early enough to take advantage of those options.
The boat was swaying quite a bit while we were there, so we got the added benefit of some balance training too. Seriously though, the weights were rolling away from us as we used the free weight area! It was definitely an adjustment, but I could feel all my stabilizers kicking in to make sure I didn’t fall over. I made sure we took a few flexing pics too, since it was a Friday and all. 🙂
The gym itself had tons of mirrors and it also had a smaller room for private personal training and cycling classes. Since it was at the front the ship, the view was FANTASTIC. I really wish I was back there right now!
The only negative comment I have is there was no filtered water, just a water fountain. (blah!) But that is a first world problem, right?
I loved the trip and the amazing gym on the boat was just icing on the cake. I give Carnival Cruise line two thumbs up for recognizing the need for quality fitness equipment.
Have you ever been on a cruise before and if so, did you use the gym on the boat? How was it?
