Active Maternity from Beachbody on demand is the perfect pregnancy fitness program for all you pregnant and postpartum mamas out there!
When I was pregnant, I had the hardest time finding a pregnancy fitness program that was challenging and safe. Active Maternity provides excellent workouts that will keep you active and fit with safe workouts you can do during and after your pregnancy. I was asked to review the program and here are my thoughts on it.
Reasons why I love Active Maternity:
*Convenience: I can easily do it from anywhere inside my house. No need to keep track of a DVD or do it in a room with a DVD player. The on demand feature is worth every single penny in my opinion! Sometimes my kids are playing in the kitchen and I can sneak in a workout right behind them in our family room because On Demand can go anywhere, especially if you have a Fire Stick. All you need a good set of dumbbells, I love the Bowflex SelecTech adjustable, and some resistance bands.
Autumn Calabrese does a great job of cueing the moves and providing modifications. Ever have an instructor that is a little boring and makes you want to quit? (I have!) This wasn’t the case –everyone on Active Maternity is upbeat and keeps you motivated!
*Quick and Effective:
Workouts are 25-35 minutes and target your whole body. As busy moms, we don’t have time for 1-2 hour workouts anymore!
* Low Impact:
When I was pregnant with my 4th, I decided to run a half marathon. Ugh. I still remember how uncomfortable that was and I was pretty miserable. Stick to low impact, your body will thank you later on down the road. (trust me!)
*Safety and education: The workouts are designed for progression throughout your pregnancy, so you can trust the exercises are safe for each trimester. I love how Autumn explains why each exercise is safe and effective for pregnancy and postpartum fitness.
Since I am no longer pregnant, nor postpartum, I was also able to try out some of the other Beachbody workouts too and I loved the variety! (I really loved the new and highly anticipated The Master’s Hammer and Chisel.
The only downside I could find to the program was that my kids kept interrupting me! Thankfully there is a pause button so I was able to pick up right where I left off. 🙂
