Last month, I went to the beach with my kids and some good friends. The weather was awesome and we parked our chairs along the sand, ready to watch the kids play. Instead of sitting down, I smiled at my friend Jamie and said , “hey! Let’s do a workout!”
Since she is such a great friend, she agreed. 🙂
We did a lot of lunges, squats, and even some burpees. (which resulted in a wardrobe malfunction on my part. Oh well….)
And then, we decided to do sprints. After doing our first set, the kids ditched their boogie boards and joined us. It was a fun moment that reminded me that kids will follow your example.
Lead an active life and they will as well.
We all got a great workout and managed to entertain a lot of people on the beach at the same time!
(look at those smiles! How often do you smile like that during sprints? Maybe kids can teach us a few things too…..)
My kids certainly have taught me about the monkey bars. They tell me how “easy” they are, so I decided to give them a try. Ummm…they are NOT easy at all! I could only make it to bar #6 and had to stop.
Vacation was so much fun and while I did manage to squeeze in some workouts, they were not comparable to the ones I do at home. I am ready to get back to working on my goals and putting in some hard work. (I have a lot of chips and salsa to work off too!)
How about you gang? How is your summer so far?
