I am one of the weird ones that really enjoys working out while on vacation.
Sometimes, I like to take fitness related vacations, like this one to Red Mountain Spa.
Sometimes, I like to do my kettlebell workouts on the beach.
Sometimes, I plan trips around running races so that I can run through the Magic Kingdom.
but then sometimes, I have the best intentions but end up sitting on the deck just enjoying the view. ![]()

Do you take a break from fitness when you are on vacation or do you ramp up your efforts?







I just happen to be on Staycation right now, and have a badass workout planned for the morning. Had I been on a “real” vacation right now? I’d probably sleep late before searching for the all you can eat breakfast buffet. I hope my next vacation to be “all inclusive”, of course. ((winks))

It depends. When we go to the beach I enjoy early morning runs but I was surprised at how easy was to sleep until breakfast time when we were on our European river cruise vacation last summer – no gym on that tiny boat, but lots of walking.

I love working out while on vacation. All my friends think I’m crazy but if the point of vacation is relaxation and rejuvenation what better way to push along that process than healthy exercise!
