Recently I wrote about how excited I was to be part owner in my own kettlebell studio. Well that all fell apart and the long and short of it is I got screwed. I am a pretty trusting person and blindly trusted my former partner.
It’s going to be a long haul but I refuse to back down while he continues to build a business in my town claiming he has no money to re-pay me. Lots of details I would love to share, but I should probably not.
Lesson here is watch your back. Be careful who you trust. And even if you get something in writing, you can still get burned.
Anyway, in the past when I’ve been frustrated I have turned to running or hard core exercises to get out my stress. These days I’m basically confined to the house with no physical outlet other than chasing my three little monkeys. So I’m frustrated, angry and really want to scream at someone right now!
(can you hear me?)
That’s my workout for the day. Screaming. ![]()
I really miss running!
How do YOU deal with stress?

Omg. Didn’t know about the studio issues! So sorry!! I hear ya on wanting to run! I can’t wait to get the ok from the doc next month!! Running is my stress reliever! Hang in there!
@Kelly: thanks Kelly! I hope you are getting some rest! I look forward to hearing about your return to running!
I’m sorry about your studio! I’m new to your blog, so trying to catch up! Running was one thing I missed when I was pregnant to cause it was what I turned to when I was stressed! So while I was pregnant and couldnt run, I turned to swimming! Best thing I ever did!
@Candice: i love that feeling of weightlessness in the pool. I need to ditch my kids on my hubby and do some solo swimming right now!
People can really be rotten! Sorry to hear that! I hear ya on the level of stress that I have been dealing with lately…I have turned to meditation….there is a great free app for itouch and iphones that is from silva lifesystems that you don’t need to have an hour to do….. also I try to “exercise ” in the pool when I am in there with the boys. I really have to say the the meditating is really great! Good luck! I enjoy your blog, thanks!
@Jen: I really need to make time for meditation. Not only do I miss running, but I miss yoga too! Off to find an app……thanks!
MAJOR, MAJOR SUCK.
My only hope is that this is actually a blessing — that it blew up before you got even deeper
@Katy Widrick: yes, Katy that is a great point. I was able to get out before I sunk even more time and money into it! Thanks!
Does he have much of a client base at the local location? Sucks that he turned out that way. I got a jerky vibe the last time I went and never went back!
people suck…well jerky people do!
sorry and like Katy said perhaps best you didn’t get in further and lose more
when I”m stressed…bike ride is best…wind in my hair, release all my cares but if I’m mad…then punching, kickboxing works for me
That’s a tough one! I feel really sorry about what happened to you. I knew you were dealing with some issues from your tweets. For me, exercise is my saving grace. Like someone else suggested, swimming did wonders for me during pregnancy. I could still get a workout and my body felt so much lighter and better afterwards.
DAMN!! I am pissed for you! But Katy makes a really good point. Now that you’ve let this go, it will make room for something better to come along!
That sucks! I’m sorry. I’m with Katy, there’s a blessing in here somewhere.
Oh, and screaming sometimes does the trick. Hang in there …
Hugs & Smiles,
Wifey
Hi workoutmommy! I’m new to your site here, but I really feel you on that post. When I’m stressed, I’ve usually (in the not-so-distant past) turned to food for relief, but have learned to channel that rather through my (now) love for running.
As for getting screwed, I don’t know what to tell you…people are people and some are inherently crappy. Lessons learned for me include asking LOTS of questions, getting it in writing and trusting nothing I hear, only what I see. I wish you the best on recovering what’s rightfully yours.
I
WHINE
and then I try try to move on
and usually whine some mo’
