It’s hard for me to believe this year is almost over! Although I’m not where I was hoping to be fitness wise, I still am proud of everything I accomplished!
Here is my top 10 list from the past year:
1. I started the year with a newborn. That in itself is an exhausting workout, but thanks to my Ergo Baby carrier I was able to do workouts at home.
2. I trained for a half marathon during back to back blizzards.
3. I ran the Disney Princess 1/2 marathon despite the fact that I was just 12 weeks postpartum and still exclusively breastfeeding! Nothing says dedication more than pumping at 6am in the middle of a freezing cold media tent!

4. Workout Mommy was listed in Shape Magazine as one of the top 3 fitness blogs! Yay me!
5. I met a bunch of my favorite bloggers at Fitbloggin and signed on for 3 months of training at LA Boxing!
6. I trained with a pretty famous (and HUGE!) professional boxer and this awesome fit mommy!
7. After nursing my aching joints for one too many hours, I sought out a new exercise that was effective in building strength and burning fat. Enter my new friend, the kettlebell! (cue loud music here!)
8. I squeeze in workouts by snatching in my kitchen. Whatever it takes gang!
9. I changed running shoes (back to Asics!) and started running sprints again. It felt fantastic! I signed up for the Disney Princess 1/2 again determined to beat my time from last year. (which won’t happen after all. blog post to come later!)
10. I partnered with an awesome RKC trainer and we opened a kettlebell and functional training studio in my hometown! I am doing the HKC in January and plan to get back into teaching classes and personal training!

Wow Lisa!! Sounds a like a pretty incredible year to me! I’ve said this once but I’ll say it again (and I’m sure again and again
) I can’t wait to meet you at Fitbloggin’ next year!

Your year sounds similar to mine. I started 2010 with a 3 1/2 year old and a 3 month old. I too did a half marathon. I did it in May. I started training in February. The hardest thing about it was having to take the extra time before each run to pump. I couldn’t just wake up in the morning and go. That would’ve been very painful and I already wear 3 sportsbras. I look forward to 1/2 marathon training without having to pump first. The Disney Princess 1/2 marathon sounds like it would be great. My oldest is a girl and she would think that would be really cool!

That’s a year to feel great about! If I could do one of the (simpler) things on your list this year, I’d feel accomplished.
