Today’s workout is bench pressing your toddler!
Lazy Daddy is back to show us how that is done.
(if you missed his debut last week, here he is doing push-ups with the kids)
How do you use YOUR kids in your workout?
No excuses gang!

I do tricep presses with my 2.5 year old. He thinks he’s flying and I just work on keeping me arms in tights. I can also lay down with him, lift him up so he’s facing me about a foot up in the air, then “dip” him over my head so his head moves toward the ground above my head. He flings his feet up. It works my lats a bit.

I try to incorporate my 2 year old with anything I can. I try to mix things up during the week, so at least once a week I get in an entire 1 hour long training session with my son. We ride to the park by bike(2 miles each way) and I do sprints, play ball and workout on the playset while he is either hanging on me(lol) or playing.
I did a blog post recently on getting back in shape after a baby(but for Dad’s) with some tips – http://bit.ly/dBL2ap

It’s not so much a conscious workout, but since wrestling is a 24/7 activity in my house with 2 little boys, I try to use it to my advantage. We also love to just turn on the music and dance. That’s my favorite way to workout and enjoy my kids!
I bench-press my baby too – it’s added resistance (and she brings a smile to my face)!

For me the query is how do you get your husband to comply?

LOL! I’ve done curls with my little guy. Getting him to not move was where I got my actual “workout”

Hee! I love it!! Talk about a bodyweight exercise;)
I used to do rolling like a ball (a Pilates exercise) with my son on my shins, he had a blast and giggled away while I worked the resistance. Now that he’s over 50 pounds we’re in the wrestling phase.
We lie on the couch, one of his feet on one of my feet and do a weird variation of thumb wrestling. It’s fun and I actually usually break a sweat. Plus there’s got to be some leg conditioning in there somewhere …
