Moving is the best medicine

by workoutmommy on May 1, 2010

May is National Arthritis Awareness Month.  Did you know that 46 million Americans are affected by arthritis, making it the most common cause of disability in the US?

I was told that my foot problem is a result of early-onset arthritis so this is a topic that hits close to home.

Throughout the month of May, there will be over 100 Arthritis Walks held nationwide to help raise awareness and funds to help improve the lives of those that live with arthritis. Please visit: www.fightarthritispain.org for more information to find a walk near you.

The Arthritis Foundation has started a new ad campaign that has some funny videos to promote movement as the best medicine.  This one cracks me up!

Get up and get moving gang and ENJOY the fact that you can.
NO excuses.

Dang.
How did you know I was using blog-surfing as an excuse to put off exercising? You caught me.
Fine.
Be that way.

Off to exercise now. Really.

Definitely something to think about the next time I want to skip a work out. Thanks :)

That IS a great ad! I love that exercise is being promoted as the solution (rather than just a prescription).
