Here is a recap of my weekly half marathon training: SNOW SUCKS.
(in case you missed it, I am running this race in 3 weeks! )
I have not been able to do any outdoor running because our entire area is covered in snow. The sidewalks are nowhere to be seen. In fact, neither is my mailbox!

On top of this, the schools have been closed for the past ten days which means my kids are always underfoot. Not exactly ideal. Cabin fever has made them (and me) absolutely crazy! Honestly if it doesn’t get warm soon, I might have to pack up and move!
Since I am always preaching “NO excuses!”, please note that I have managed a handful of late night workouts on my treadmill. They were shorter runs though (3-4 miles) and definitely not the distance I need to be logging at this point. But what can you do? Sometimes life (and snow) gets in the way.
So we just brush ourselves off and keep on moving…..literally! I am SO looking forward to the fun of running in Disney and the warm weather of Orlando!
How about you? How was your week?

Snowing again today here in Indiana. I will put on my Yak Trax and get out for my walk as soon as it is light enough. Last week I was on vacation in Colorado and actually did snow shoe. I loved it. Maybe I need to buy snowshoes just for days like today. All of this winter weather messes with your mind when you can’t keep up the routine.
I do not understand why snow impedes you.
can you not bodyglide from head to toe and just sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide on through the snow nekid?
If you were hardcore that’s totally what you’d do.
while juggling like the joggler.
xo xo,
Oh my goodness. That’s unfortunate.
I’ve totally been hiding indoors because I don’t want to deal with the cold. Today I went skating, and then I came back home and plopped myself in front of the computer. I don’t have any intention of moving again until tomorrow
(I mean… yes, yes I’ll be exercising *shifty eyes*).

Well I was going to leave you a comment offering my support and sympathy but MizFit’s comment has me laughing so hard I can hardly type! It’s like a human luge! And you thought you’d never make it to the Olympics;)

I recently started snowshoeing because I was tired of snow getting in the way of my running. I am now a HUGE FAN of snowshoeing although I do miss having streets that are clear enough to run on!

While I’m not training for a 1/2, I indirectly feel your pain. My hubby is training for a full marathon and can’t get out to run either. He actually did 18 miles on the treadmill on Saturday. 148 minutes on the treadmill.
That’s just nuts.

*Planning* a run for the morning…maybe 1.5 miles!
Don’t throw virtual tomatoes my way, but…it’s about 70 degrees here (almost too *hot* for a run! ha!). Want to move to Arizona?
