Lunge and squat with your kids for added fitness. No excuses!

by workoutmommy on January 10, 2010

It won’t get me in marathon shape, but every little bit counts gang!
Here is a clip of me lunging with my boys, thanks to my ERGO baby carrier.

How do you workout WITH your kids?

Never underestimate the power of a workout!

Nice. My baby is 10 months old now and the wife and I like to strap her in her stroller and go running or walking together. Hate these Utah winters though… looking forward to spring!

My kids like to sit on me while I work out. Given that they are 6 and 8, I’m a little afraid of hernias.

Oh man, does that mean I have to do lunges and squats again…since I don’t have any excuses with 3 kids, tee hee ;) Btw, you were a meany earlier…making me do squats before I could walk out the door! Okay, okay…I secretly love it, I NEED that motivation!

Jamie :)

Great job. When you can’t make it to the gym, adapt to your surroundings.

Look at you! With your signature baseball cap and your awesome encouraging way! You are totally inspiring.

P.S. ERGOs are the best, aren’t they? How do you like that infant insert, by the way? I didn’t get my ERGO until my baby was 6-months-old so I never used the insert…

From the time Grant could hold his head up, I would lay on my back, with him laying on my shins on his belly and I would do what I call “in and out” crunches. Pulling my legs up while I curled up. He loves the “airplane” ride and I love the ab workout!

I am very inspired by this! Even though my daughter is in that in between stage of the carrier and being able to do the exercises with me I know this will help once we have a baby #2. I had a very difficult time adjusting once my first was born so I am very anxious to try this out next time! Thanks!
