My fitness goals before I had kids are not that much different than the ones I have now.  The main difference is finding the actual TIME to fulfill them!  (In fact, now I’m wondering why I never achieved some of these goals because I really had all the time in the world!)

made specific for the triathlon wikipedia page...

Here are my top 5 goals that I would like to accomplish in this lifetime (in no particular order):

1. Qualify for the Boston Marathon:  any runner/marathoner will probably tell you this is his/her goal.  The older I get, the better my chances since the qualifying time gets more favorable!

2. Complete a triathlon:   I can ride a bike and run, but I am terrible when it comes to swimming.  (think of a drowning rat).  It isn’t pretty at all and I can only imagine trying to swim in a pool or lake full of other people.   Maybe I should invest in swimming lessons?

3. Do 10+ pull ups.   I have ZERO upper body strength.  As soon as I get the all clear for exercise, I am throwing myself into the P90x program.  I want to have Mizfit-worthy arms!

4. Teach fitness classes/personal train again.  If I have one strength, it is making fitness fun for others.  I miss inspiring others to fitness and helping them reach their goals.

5. Look good in a bikini again. Ok, this one is more vain than fitness related.  A long time ago I worked VERY hard to get bikini ready and when I show these pictures to my oldest son, he doesn’t recognize that it is me.  Ugh!   Well, I’ve got a long road ahead, but I’ve done it before and need to find the courage to do it again.

How about you gang, what are your fitness/health goals?

    Great goals!

Funny, my goal is pretty similar to MizFit’s: stay “young” and healthy for the toddler. I was a pretty young and very active mom when the teenager was little, so I think the toddler deserves the same…

I have strength goals that I’m achieving.. and I want to go back to my bodyweight goals (pushups/pullups).

I want to feel comfortable enough in my body to dance with joy. I do not care if I look good- only that I feel happy and free (instead of klutz-like).

I want to hike the grand canyon.

Fabulous goals! So do you want to run the Boston Marathon too? Or just qualify? Either way, that’s awesome! And who among us DOESN’T want Mizfit arms!?

    1. get down to 150, which is the best weight for my body.
    2. run a 5K every month for the entire year of 2010.
    3. run a 10K at least one time in 2010.
    4. learn to ride a bike. yes, you read that right. I am a New Yorker that learned to walk and ride the subway, never a bike.
    5. I want to do 100 pushups–regular.

and I am considering 6. convincing hubby to have baby #4 after 2010. I don’t think I will succeed with that one.

I am looking forward to you getting back into the swing of fitness. Exciting!

Those sound like some great goals! I need to find time to work out more. Sometimes it is hard to find time to work out during the cold winter months. I usually exercise outside but can’t in the wet cold winter months.

Lose all my baby weight by April. I gained 70 pounds with my daughter 4 years ago, and have two more children between then.. I still have 40 pounds to get back to the old me.

    Run a 1/2 marathon.

Look good in a swimsuit. Not a bikini although I would kill for that!!

I met my triathlon goal last year– but did it as a relay team. I highly recommend doing it that way as a first time. We had so much fun, got to be IN the triathlon– and best of all we got second place! We never would have placed individually but we each picked our best talent so it was a lot of fun.

I am aiming high…Mt. Everest high

I have a 5 yr plan (with a group of friends) to climb Mt. Everest. Some of my friends are in less than stellar shape, so we have given ourselves 5 years to get super fit & get schooled on high altitude climbing

    About Me

In my life before kids, I was a personal fitness trainer and self proclaimed fitness junkie. I loved the 5am workouts and evening strength training sessions. Now that I'm a mom, my life is filled with 5am feedings and piles of laundry. I've let my fitness slip and this blog will hopefully provide motivation to help myself (and YOU!) get back in shape. I want to be fit, be healthy, and be happy! No more excuses....it's time to workout mommy!
