Ah to be young again…or does it matter! When most of us think of being in our eighties, we think of being old and sitting in a chair somewhere alone. That’s not the case for many very spry octogenarians that are still interested in looking and feeling just as good as they did when they were much younger. Sure there may be some restrictions when it comes to the workout regimens that they maintain, but there are some octogenarians that are willing to push past the pain a bit. The octogenarians on this list have worked through injuries, medical setbacks, and health conditions that would cause others much younger to quit fitness altogether. As you will see from the “eighty something” individuals on this list, though, they show no signs of slowing down and that’s what makes us all love them.

Eighty Plus And Going Strong

1. Ray Moon: At eighty years old, this octogenarian doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. He recently took top prize in the Victorian Bodybuilding Championships in Australia in the “over sixty” category. He works out for over two hours a day and though he has suffered major medical setbacks, he has been at his regimen and bodybuilding efforts for decades. He even maintains his workout routine with a pacemaker that is just a part of his life and nothing that appears to be slowing him down anytime soon.

2. Sherwood Jenkins: This founder of the Octogenarian Fitness Club in Texas has made fitness a huge priority. He wanted to stay fit for his family and at 85 years old founded this fitness club that has turned into a phenomenon for the “eighty something” crowd. So Sherwood jogs every single morning and his following keeps pace as there’s something for everyone in this club. He is a true leader when it comes to fitness amongst the older set.

3. Dr. Jonas Nisbet: Not only is he an active member of the Octogenarian Fitness Club, but he ventures out to do his own workouts as well. He wasn’t ready to fade into the sunset and he now works out every single day combining cardio, strength training, and flexibility exercises such as yoga to keep him looking and feeling young.

4. Henrietta and Donald MacKenzie: This couple runs an olive farm and the work doesn’t stop there. Not only do they spend their days running a farm and a very active olive farm which is remarkable in their eighties, but they take it even further. They have climbed Mount Everest and their fitness routines center around a very active life and plenty of cardio mixed in whenever time permits—but the olive picking that comes first lends way to plenty of exercise.

Bob Barker5. Bob Barker: This famous TV personality is recognized by many and he still looks outstanding at 86 years old. He keeps fit by golfing and regularly walking to stay trim and looking young. He had the longest run on TV and has maintained his regimen even after his stint on “The Price is Right” ended.

These 5 octogenarians are putting the rest of us to shame. They make staying fit look like a walk in the park…and what’s more, they make it look fun! Take a page from their books and never let age be a factor in living your best life to the fullest!
