The Juice, sponsored by Tropicana Trop 50, is “the good stuff” of the Blogher community. It is a unique online community where women can exchange practical ideas and tips on how to get more of what they want and less of what they don’t. The Juice is all about the “good stuff” and every week there is a new discussion, hosted by Blogher co-founder Jory Des Jardins.
The topic this week includes an episode called “Take a Stretch Break”, which mentions Workout Mommy! (Yay!)
As an incentive to remind you to take a stretch break, I have an excellent prize pack to give to one lucky reader. Please watch the above clip and and tell me what part of your body would benefit from taking a stretch break. The winner will receive a mind/body stretch break package that will include:
- Complete Pilates Kit
- Set of 10 Relaxing CDs
- and 1 Year subscription to Natural Health Magazine [Total value is over $100!]
The winner will be chosen at random on Monday, 7/20 at 9pm EST and is open to US addresses only.

HEAD TO FREAKIN TOE.
and I am recommitting to stretching Oh WO MOMMY.
you many not know but I turn 40 this weekend
I need it.
I NEED IT!
We must never neglect the most precious thing we have, our body.
My entire body always needs to be stretched, but the one muscle in my body that never seems to get enough is my hamstrings because I am a runner.
My poor, tired, tight hamstrings!!

For me…stretching my neck and shoulders like they recommended is important. If I don’t….I pull something in there and I’m out for a couple days.
I love the Trop50 juice!!

Great video, and congrats on being mentioned!
I have been focusing a lot more on stretching lately, but I realize that I don’t stretch my hands and forearms enough.

My neck and shoulders are always so tight… I’d love to gain some flexibility there.

I’m a hamstrings / buttocks stretcher! I love sinking into those stretches and feeling the “nice” burn from it. I usually hold them for about a minute each. AND as a shorter girl, I like to see my muscles lengthen out and give me the appearance of being taller and leaner.
Congrats on the shout out! Very cool!

I run in the morning and sit for the next nine hours. Add to that age and some shin splints and the body parts that need the most stretching for me are my calves.
Of course this usually also makes me get out of my chair, which means I’m more prone to take a breather (and grab some coffee).

Hi! I am new to your blog and loving it! Well, lets see must I get more specific when I say my entire body would benefit from stretching?!-ha! As a runner I could definitely benefit from stretching my legs more, i.e hamstrings and calves!

I never even knew you could strtch your eyes….I did it as the girls were doing it and WOW!!! I seriously feel more awake, or wide-eyed, and my eyes really do feel better!
I could also benefit from ANY hamstring or arm stretch. Heck, let’s face it, I need to stretch my whole bod!

CONGRATS on the mention! That was cool to see and hear. I always stretch my hamstrings after my runs which has oddly helped my flexibility. I have a very tight lower back and need to focus on that. But I carry my stress in my shoulders and tend to slouch, so I would benefit most from the neck and shoulder stretches she mentioned.

My neck and wrists could really benefit from a stretch break. Sitting for long periods wreaks havoc on my back and neck, and typing makes my carpal tunnel flare up. I love stretching!

Can I say that my mind needs a stretch break? If not, I’m going to go with triceps. Definitely.

PROBABLY my neck and shoulders! Thanks for the chance!
I find myself hunching over a lot when I’m breastfeeding… I know they say ‘bring baby to breast, not breast to baby’… but at 3am I’ll do whatever it takes to get back to sleep. So, I’d say my back is in desperate need of some stretching!

Definately my shoulders. And neck. And back. I have a terrible setup at my work desk plus stress so I am a mess!
Definitely stretching my neck, shoulders, and wrists. My job has me sitting at a desk taking/fielding phone calls for at least 2 hours at a time. I’m consistently on the computer at work too. And being in front of a computer screen all day I will definitely start stretching my eyes…I mean how cool is that!
I’ve become a pilates addict over the last 8 months… so I start my days off at 5 a.m. with stretching. But the area that could *always* use a stretch break is: my hamstrings. The tips in the video were great — and congrats on the mention!
I’ve been on a focused exercise plan since April and am seeing great results. In the past couple of weeks, though, my neck and back have hurt and been incredibly tight when I wake up in the morning. I think it’s a combo of over-exercising and gripping too hard on the elliptical handles (this is my regular after-work routine.)
I’m trying to add more stretching while I sit at my desk, but I’m not good at adding organized stretching activity into my routines. I’m concerned about long-term injury though so I know I have to work on this now!

As we age, we REALLY need to add stretching to our workout. Dana Torres, was 41 when she won her last gold medal in the Olympics for swimming. She credits her PRE- workout static stretching routine for her success as she ages.
I am finding my hips getting “stiffer” from my morning runs. Boy, this package could address that!!
Congrats on the mention!!! I just discovered the leg stretching machines at my gym and they are my new favorite toy.
And I thought I was a rare bird with tight hamstrings! Somewhat comforting to know I am not so unusual. Boy do they feel good when I stretch them, I just need to remember to do it daily. I also have to be cognizant of stretching my neck and back. I hold a lot of tension there and tend to have tight pec. muscles which is not good for my neck support. I ended up in physical therapy for my neck for awhile. In fact I think I will go stretch things out right now! Thx for the reminder!!
Nicole–congratulations, you are the winner! Please email me your mailing address so you can get your prize. Thank you!
