What is your favorite sports bra?

by workoutmommy on July 7, 2009

The most important piece of workout wear in my sports bag these days is my sports bra.  Without an good excellent one, a workout can become a painful disaster!

frogIn the past, I have loved my Frog Bra from Title Nine Sports.  It held everything in place with minimal bouncing.   These days it just isn’t getting the job done though.  I’m getting bigger with this pregnancy and therefore need a more supportive bra to handle the load!  I’ve been forced to double bag  (wear two bras at once!) and that is getting uncomfortable as well.

Last week I sent out a tweet asking for suggestions on your  favorite sports bras.  Here are some of the responses I received:

KatyShops, 2Peachkids, and RenaeRed all like Moving Comfort brand.   Mublogger agrees with them, specifically recommending the  Fiona Bra, because the straps can be adjusted with just one hand for moms that are still nursing.

ToThink recommends Hanes, especially for the well endowed woman, which I definitely need at this point!   I had no idea they even sold these!  (Here is a coupon for their website, just in case you are interested:Free Shipping with $50 order and an additional 20% off clearance items at Hanes.com Expires 7.26.09)

Metropolitan Mama has been a strong supporter (no pun intended!) of the Enell sports bra, saying it takes away the “bounce” factor.

So, my quest this week is to find some new sports bras that can support my (growing) chest during all my favorite workouts.  Please let me know if you have a favorite that I have missed!

Have you been active today gang?  Get up and get moving, no excuses!

Two thumbs up for the ENELL. It’s fabulous! I just wore mine today actually – for day #1 of Jillian Michaels’ 30-day shred (It was a TOUGH workout!).

I also like the Fabulous Athletic Bra: http://www.fabulousathleticbra.com/ (the website is cheesy, but the product is good).

And Moving Comfort’s Maia Bra: http://www.movingcomfort.com/dyn_prod.php?p=350011&k=123446.

Oh this is SO timely for me! I’ve been double-bagging for a couple of months now and it is not comfortable. These pregnancy boobies need some more support! Thanks for the list – gonna have a good time going through all of them:)

Enell rocks! (It’s not the most comfy, but the girls will stay put!)

Hey Lisa. I actually work here at Title Nine, and I wanted to put in my two cents about your post-baby bra conundrum. Mublogger is exactly right about the Fiona Bra (we call it the 3-Reasons Support Bra); the adjustable straps are a breeze and they stay in place forever. The fabric is soft but supportive. And the cups give you a medium amount of separation without getting an underwire involved. The Enell Bra (we call it The Last Resort, for a good reason!) is mega supportive, and it’s pretty convenience for nursing moms because it snaps open in the front. Just beware that this bra is big on compression and low on separation.

I also took a look at your “about” section, and you sound a lot like our customers who are also active mommies. (My laundry piles up and I don’t even have kids yet. What’s MY excuse?!) We’ve love to hear from you if you’re interested in being part of our Working In Working Out feature on our timeoutwithtitlenine.com site.

Alas, I am still searching for the perfect sports bra. I love my bra from Osielle running, but I don’t know how well it will do with larger cup sizes.

I gotta say I usually go for the cheapest sports bras I can find – I don’t even know the brands. Unfortunately, I suffer from small chest big nipple syndrome, and I should NOT be in the gym without a padded bra. Lol – none of this helps the big chested woman :-) except to say, cheap is not always best :-)

I LOVE the Fiona Bra. I am a 42D (pushing a double), and this is the first bra that I have found that holds everything. The adjustability is excellent for those days when the girls are bigger than yesterday (or smaller, you know…) Highly recommend that one. I got mine as Academy for like, 30 bucks, I think.

I love the AVIA sports bra. I can find them at ROSS for only $12.99. They are comfy, come in cute colors and have that awesome moisture whicking material!
