Cindy Crawford accepts her changing body

by workoutmommy on March 28, 2009

masl01_crawfordThe latest issue of Allure magazine has a great interview with supermodel Cindy Crawford.  She talks about how her body is changing as she ages (only 43) and that she accepts her body for what it is today vs. when she was 23.

“I’m all for fighting the good fight, but I don’t care how much you work out or how much cream you put on—things change.”

She favors coloring her hair over plastic surgery, as she believes that is the secret to making women look younger.
Cindy says she takes care of herself but does not obsess about it:

“if Star magazine or whatever wants to print a picture of me on the beach from the back, at the worst possible angle, and say that I have cellulite, I’m like, Guess what? I do, and I never said I didn’t. I’ve had two kids, and I’m 43, so leave me alone”

Good for her!

Cindy Crawford seems like one of those rare celebrities who is not obsessed with being stick thin. (She even has a baby belly!)

I wish I had as few imperfections as Cindy does, but I think the point is to not sweat the small stuff here.  So what if you have some cellulite on the back of your legs or stretch marks across your belly.  Ignore it all and just be happy you can be active.  Some people do not have that option.

So get up and get moving, even if you’ve got a little extra to move.  Never underestimate the power of a workout!

This is such an empowering post! Am tweeting it. She is the kind of woman that we need to see more of in the media as a positive role model.

It’s so sad that Hollywood has made women feel that they have to fit into some kind of perfect little mold.

This is refreshing to see a woman that isn’t ashamed to age gracefully.

Now, I truly believe in doing the most you can with what God gave you. That means taking care of yourself and staying fit, but after that, you just have to accept yourself and be happy with the skin you’re in.

Wow, I love the picture that you linked to Cindy’s baby belly. It looks exactly (well, almost exactly) like my belly after giving birth to an 8 pounder and a 10 pounder! I feel so much better about my belly skin.

Thanks so much!

It amazes me how our eyes see such different things.
I SAW WHAT YOU SAW and liked the picture.
I saw real.
I saw honest.
It may not ever be most of our REALS or HONESTS if we dont have her amazing genetics BUT CAN WE FAULT HER FOR THAT?

so many bloggers bashed this pic—I liked it as well.
