When I need to use a padlock at the gym, I flashback to seventh grade and desperately trying to remember my gym locker combination before the next class started. Life would have been much less stressful had Wordlock been around back in the day.
Wordlock’s motto is: Easy to Set • Never Forget.™
It was created by Todd and Rahn Basche when no one in their family could remember the many numerical combinations on padlocks around their house. The patented algorithm of Wordlock creates thousands of 4 and 5 letter words, although you are not able to create any of your favorite swear words. (the only drawback I found!)
Prior to creating Wordlock, Mr. Basche was VP Software Applications at Apple where he was responsible for Itunes, the Music Store, iPhoto, iMovie and iDVD. This fact alone, makes me a huge fan of his!
Here are some more details about Wordlock products:
* Wordlock padlocks are available is red, pink, black and silver
* The locks offer up 100,000 possible letter and word combos
* Very inexpensive, only $9.99
* They are available at Target, Walgreens, Sears and Kmart, as well as online at Amazon.com
The lock was very easy to use and I like the fact that I can change the combination word often.
Want to win your own? I have one padlock and one bike lock to give away!
Enter to win by leaving a comment below telling us a gym locker story. (If you don’t have your own story, just make one up!)
Winners will be chosen at random on Thursday, 3/26 @ 10pm EST.
This contest is open to US addresses only.
Have an ACTIVE weekend gang!

Once when we all went to the gym there was some crazy chic taking all the bras out of unlocked lockers! None of us 5 had locked ours, so we all went braless til we got home! Thanks for the giveaway! :_
This is genious!
Just thinking about gym lockers makes me shudder. In middle school we had a female gym teacher that watched us with eagle eyes after every gym class to make sure we stripped all the way down and showered. As a pre-teen it was the worst thing in the world and made me despise gym even more!
This one time…in gym class…(hehehe) I some how managed to find a secret admirer letter in my GIRLS LOCKER ROOM LOCKER!!!
This is really embarrassing, I have a change of clothes and other odds and ends in a locker at the Y that have been there for a couple weeks because I lost the key. I used that type of lock because I tend to forget the numbers on combination locks. I am however, good at remembering words!
I sometimes forget my locker combo, so this would help a lot
Once, when I was in school, my friend totally forgot her combination and could not find where she had written it down. Finally, the lock had to be cut off. This type of combo would be musch easier to remember!
I was very mischevious in high school. Amy never locked her locker. She was a nerd and notthe best looking girl. She didn’t have a boyfriend. I had received a very romantic letter from the biggest jock in school. It had a lot of details aout what he wanted to do. He didn’t sign it. I put it in her locker. She freaked out. The story spread all over school.
i once had to get my brothers homework from his locker and it smelled like an animal crawled in there and died..i ended up buying him a few stickup air fresheners..puuuuuuueeeey
The gym at my university doesn’t have enough lockers to go around. The end result is that you basically have to stalk people in order to get a locker. It can be pretty ackward, because you are basically standing next to someone while they are changing so you can steal their locker.
In junior high, I was on the track team. We wore the same stuff all week. Well, one week, someone stole all my stuff. I had to run in jeans and my boots. Gyaa!
I kept my gym locker unlocked during PE class in high school because it was a hassle having to set the combination lock everyday.
If anyone made my gym teacher mad he would grab his bolt cutters and cut open our locker locks!
