Want to be as strong as a Texas Firefighter?
Rip Esselstyn created The Engine 2 Diet: The Texas Firefighter’s 28-Day Save-Your-Life Plan after realizing he and his fellow firefighters had high cholesterol. After following his plant based plan for 28 days, everyone lost weight, lowered their cholesterol and improved their overall health.
Here are some of the details from the Engine 2 diet:
- It is plant-based and mostly vegan: you’ll eat fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds.
- It is low in fat, sugar, and salt.
- There is no caloric limit–you can eat as many healthy fruits, vegetables and whole grains as you like.
- It includes some “fire-fighter inspired” exercises.
Sounds like a great plan! and I have FIVE copies to give away!

Less than 10 minutes a day.
I am a diet book junkie. I love to read them, and Love to collect them. Pick me!

I probably spend 30 min of facebook…except for this week. I had my tonsils taken out so I’ve been on it probably 2hrs a day!!

I spend about 30 minutes on average on facebook. But right now is spring break, so it is up to about an hour. At least I’m staying off of it while I’m home. Please pick me!!!
I have to confess I’m a Facebook and a Twitter virgin.
On the other hand, it sounds like I’m saving myself at least half an hour a day by my Luddite tendencies

Well, this is going to be embarrassing, but I have both Twitter and FB running on my computer about 12 hours/day. I am probably actively posting to each for a total of 1 – 2 hours/day ……. but hey, it’s all about networking, right?

Wow. Sad to say that it is really impossible for me to measure how much I am on Twitter. I have a twitter app on my phone and check it periodically (and often) throughout the day. Maybe once or twice an hour? FB is a lot less, but I do have the phone app for that, too. Probably only 20 min/day for FB.
I spend wayyyyy too much time on Facebook. I should totally dedicate that time to working out and my life would be a lot different.
I’d LOVE to read this book!
I stopped using Twitter because it just felt like a giant time suck. I’m on Facebook maybe 15 minutes a week. Any online time is spent on dailymile (a site for runners, bikers, and tri people) and reading the blogs I subscribe to via Bloglines.

I am on FB ALL DAY LONG at work and I check it incessantly! And then I have it on my iphone so I check it at least 2 times at night as well to see if anyone has updated or commented or whatever! Still new to the TWitter thing!

count me in girlfriend…hmm, time on Twitter, maybe an hour total and facebook…I’d say minutes a day, usually when I’m nursing baby and have my iphone.

I was spending WAY too much time on Facebook and blogs. I have cut back and now just get on for a few minutes every few days!
It is addicting!
Not much on either and never when I’m at home – my phone updates me with both so I’m only on if I see something that I want to checkout.
I would say on and off about two hours a day. But only after I have my hour workout!
I hate to say it, but about 30 minutes to look at what my friends are up to! pick me!!

I use Twitter for business so spend probably a couple of hours a day on Twitter. FB is more social for me, so maybe 15 mins. Twitter is great for people like me who work from home. Let’s us feel connected to the world and friends even though we’re alone. Thanks for doing this contest and I’d love to win.

How much time do you spend on Facebook and/or Twitter on a daily basis?
Whenever I am on the computer, I leave my Tweetdeck open in the background. So it could be a few minutes. Or, if I am writing a paper for school, then it could be hours.

on facebook… maybe five minutes a day. just long enough to accept any friend requests and respond to any messages. on twitter… never.

Uh. Hm. Honestly. Let’s see. I probably average 20 minutes on FB and 30 minutes on Twitter. If I really counted it up though… all the times I check them on my iPhone and work computer and home computer? I wouldn’t admit it to myself OR you.

I’m logged in to facebook 24/7. I’m actually “on” about 1-2 hours, at least, each day.

I don’t spend a ton of time on facebook and I am not on twitter. I would rather spend my time either blogging.
Hey girl, how are you?
I attempt to spend only 10 minutes per site once or twice per day.

i’m on FB/Twitter all day long and into the night. lucky for me, i have a job where i am helping a nonprofit figure out how to use FB and twitter, among other apps, so it’s part of my job. however, my DD thinks i need to be cut off! so how many hours would that be? 8? 10? too many, i suspect. and i can’t even justify that i often am sitting on my exercise ball!

for this diet – i’m looking at the book for my husband (and the tough-guy factor since it was written by a firefighter isn’t lost on me!). He has been talking about a vegan diet and if I don’t win the book – at least i have learned a new source as reference for him! Thanks!
by the way, i’m on facebook WAY TOO MUCH at least 1 hour a day….
I spend about 20-30 minutes on twitter each day. Thanks for the chance!
Less than 5 minutes a day.
I don’t spend any time on facebook because I am a 55 year old parent who has to work
I don’t spend any time at those places.
I’m only on Facebook, and now only about 15 minutes a week. I started realizing that it was sucking away so much time that I had better places to devote it to.
Thanks for sharing, this diet looks awesome~
I spend about a half hour a day!

honestly I’ lucky if i spend an hour each week on facebook and twitter combined. I’m still learning about them both. by the way this book sounds so very interesting
I spend maybe 30 minutes a day on Facebook. I have too much going on in my life to spend much time there.
I do not spend any time on facebook I haven’t even registered there and I keep hearing about tweets but don’t know what they are. I feel so left behind
I don’t spend very much time on Facebook. I spend about an hour a day on Twitter.
Thank you!

Absolutely none.
I belong but, spend very little time on Facebook checking it about once a month! I prefer gmail and chatting with a webcam.
Facebook is not my forte.
Myspace is though.
Twitter is sort of cool but I only spend about 30 minutes a day on it.
I spend less than 5 minutes a day on either site. I love the idea of this book – very cool!
About 30 minutes a day on facebook.
I do my “social networking” via email, generally — or face-to-face, at work, etc.
Too much contact makes “contact” seem trivial, somehow — as it is, when weekend phone calls make contact, voice-to-voice is the next best thing to being there (hmm, a slogan?) and makes it special. “Luck o’ the draw”, find me here!
I’ve already lost 40 pounds but have suddenly stopped losing and could use an incentive! This is just what I need to get things moving again and lose the final 20 pounds!
I don’t spend any time on Facebook or Twitter. My sister raves about them but I really don’t have any interest.
I spend a couple hours a day on both, usually at the same time.

I’m only on Facebook for about 30 minutes a day
