Here is a peek into my attempt at getting a workout done at home. I prefer to workout alone, but since the gym daycare continues to boot me and my brood out the door, this is my only option.

God Bless you and your efforts! I love the baby gates encompassing your treadmill. lol – I can see your little one screaming at the gate. That is something mine would do if I had a treadmill.

I work out at home and would absolutely LOVE to have your setup! I have a 4 year old and a 23 month old and both of them hang out while I workout. As time has gone on (I have been working out in my home 5 days each week since Jan 09) they have become used to me working out. I encourage them (sometimes not so nicely) to do something else. Usually they play or watch TV while I do this. If I can, I try to workout when they are in their rest time (4 year old is not required to nap, but he must stay in playroom and play for 1.5 hours by himself during little bro’s naptime). This works for us. I hope your workouts go better soon!

At least you have a home gym. Mine consists of an elliptical machine and a step. That’s it…no weights, no treadmill, no bench.
I cannot wait to buy our home so I will have my own workout room.
I know what you mean about working out in peace and quiet. It’s like being on a mommy vacation.

Ahhhh, how I, too, long for “MizFit Arms!”
Good on ya, though, for doing whatever you can in less than ideal circumstances! (Plus, you’re setting a great example for the kids.)
When my son was a year old I would work out at home with DVDs. He would run in circles around me throughout the workout. Now he sometimes does the moves with me. My daughter just watches me and giggles, until it’s time for ab work. Then she sits on my stomach.
Kinda like having 2 very small personal trainers, lol!
I love this! Great workout.

I LOVE that you have a gate around your space. I have never thought of that and think it would serve us well.

Maybe your idea of a gate is a smart one

That looks REALLY familiar! Though my 2 year old does nap still, I often try to get my workout done in the morning while she’s awake. My gym is in a separate room from the playroom as well. I can generally manage to get her to stay in the playroom while I’m on the eliptical but lately she’s been choosing to be in her playpen in the gym when I’m going my resistance training. I prefer the weekend workouts when she’s with her Dad, but she keeps getting better and better with the workouts while she’s around.
I love this post! I have to work out at home a lot too and it’s so funny the things we’ll do and put up with to squeeze that work out in! I have almost tripped on a kid more times then I can count while trying to do a step dvd. The easiest way to sneak in a work out is with the Wii – the kids love to watch and play along and if you really get into the boxing and tennis, you can get that heart rate up!
