Today is Groundhog Day, which means that Punxsutawney Phil will come out of his burrow on Gobbler’s Knob to predict the weather for the rest of winter.

If he sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter weather. If he doesn’t, there will be an early spring.

PLEASE DO NOT SEE THAT SHADOW PHIL!

Yes, I am begging.  Please bring me some spring!  I want sunny days where we can be back outside at the park, or running outside and chasing the kids on the soccer field.
Yes, I know we can do all of those things during winter, but we don’t.  I have a very hard time staying warm and I just cannot tolerate cold weather anymore.   So I am reduced to begging a small furry creature to bring me some relief.

and here is where I beg you too.  I’m going out of town this month (thankfully to the sunny state of Florida, I cannot wait!) and would love to have some guest posts lined up during my absence.

Got something on your mind about the health and fitness world?   I’d love to hear from you.   Send your emails to workoutmommy at gmail dot com. Thanks!

I’m off now to do my “please-Phil-don’t-see-your-shadow” dance. Want to join me?

I am so with you! The cold this year has been brutal, and I’m not even in the ice and snow !Just want to take the girls out in the stroller, do a quick run to the park and feel some sunshine on my face . Ahh, warm the bones! Come on Phil!

Ground Hog Day is also the day my husband and I met–an anniversary of sorts so we always celebrate. Romantic huh? Might as well cuz there’s never a chance of early spring in Minnesota!!
