Krispy Kreme Dounuts - Food For ITThis race takes running to a whole new challenge.

The Krispy Kreme Challenge is being held in February. Runners will race two miles to a nearby Krispy Kreme store. At that store, they must consume TWELVE Krispy Kreme donuts and then race back to the starting line. All of this must be done in under an hour.

Now, I can certainly chomp down a Krispy Kreme or two, but a dozen?
and then resume running?
Yikes!

The race draws a crowd though; last year there were over 3000 runners and raised over $20k for the Children’s Hospital of North Carolina.

Anybody up for the challenge?

How do the runners not throw-up while they are running back after downing 12 donuts?

Jen, the website says it is OK if you throw up. (you are not encouraged however to MAKE yourself throw up!)

Oh that is way too funny. So many guys I know would be all about this.

I like Krsipy Kremes, not so much the running. Maybe we can do it in teams- one person runs, one person eats? Hehe.

    I like Sagan’s idea, lol!
Good to see that the money goes to charity, but I can’t imagine people feel too good after the race!
    Very funny!

Since it is all for charity, maybe you can donate the 12 donuts instead of eating them. Yuck! I think I will be sick just eating 2. But then again, this is a marketing campaign for Krispy Kremes.

I’m all for charity, but that totally defeats the purpose of running. And 12?! Ewwww.

Wow a dozen Krispy Kremes…they need to increase the mileage quite a bit to burn off those calories!

I grew up in North Carolina, where Krispy Kreme donuts originated.

However, if I eat just two of those donuts, that’s about all I can handle. One usually hits the spot. They’re just too sweet for me.

But man, eating 12 of those things and then running again – no way, at least not for me!

Oh my! That definitely doesn’t sound like fun! I don’t like running on a full stomach. At least it’s for a good cause though…

    About Me

In my life before kids, I was a personal fitness trainer and self proclaimed fitness junkie. I loved the 5am workouts and evening strength training sessions. Now that I'm a mom, my life is filled with 5am feedings and piles of laundry. I've let my fitness slip and this blog will hopefully provide motivation to help myself (and YOU!) get back in shape. I want to be fit, be healthy, and be happy! No more excuses....it's time to workout mommy!
