I am going to Chicago!

I’m one of the 15 food and diet/health bloggers invited to the Quaker Oatmeal Living Proof Weekend this November.

I will get a chance to learn more about Quaker’s products, the business, and it’s commitment to heart health. I will also be eating a lot of their fantastic products, as all of the items in this picture arrived at my house on Friday!

My husband currently takes medication for high cholesterol and Quaker has “Living Proof” that the soluble fiber from oatmeal can help lower cholesterol as part of a heart healthy diet. (Facts backed up by more than 25 years of clinical proof!) I am looking forward to my husband becoming “Living Proof” as he will be eating Quaker Oatmeal for breakfast, lowering his fat intake, and exercising regularly for the next 30 days.

Is there something you would like to know about Quaker and it’s products? Have a suggestion or concern? Leave me a comment and I’ll be sure to bring your comments with me to Chicago.

I’m a Slow Cook fan myself. My girls refer to it as: Mommy’s Oatmeal (as opposed to the instant oatmeal) but they love it too. I’m also in a Steel Cut phase. If I had only one thing to eat for breakfast, I’d choose oatmeal. Yum.

P.S. Lisa, you’re going to be mentioned in my post today:-)

Congrats Lisa.. I’m no oatmeal person.. I hated it as a child.. BUT when told it would help to lower my cholesterol.. I found other ways to use it.. :) I still won’t eat oatmeal but its one of the secret ingredients in my “baked fried chicken” :)

My question for you to ask.. can they lower the sugar in the oatmeal to go bars? They have one that’s banana or something.. it’s pretty good but maybe they can come up with more flavors :)

What a fun trip- I am an oatmeal addict!! I agree with the other poster- maybe some healthier (lower calorie/ less sugar) items made with Quaker Oats. I would love a low sugar (even with Splenda) easy cookie mix or bars.

    About Me

In my life before kids, I was a personal fitness trainer and self proclaimed fitness junkie. I loved the 5am workouts and evening strength training sessions. Now that I'm a mom, my life is filled with 5am feedings and piles of laundry. I've let my fitness slip and this blog will hopefully provide motivation to help myself (and YOU!) get back in shape. I want to be fit, be healthy, and be happy! No more excuses....it's time to workout mommy!

    Be nice!
