Thoughts from the couch

by workoutmommy on October 8, 2008

Being injured is definitely no fun.
Instead of letting the “why me?” thoughts consume your mind, here are five ways to enjoy your time on the couch:The remote control

  1. You’ll have time to catch up on the stacks of magazines and books that have been piled up on your desk for weeks.
  2. You can get some much needed sleep. Remember that?
  3. Let others to wait on you for a change. Don’t feel bad about asking for help, you really do need it!
  4. You can watch a lot of television, guilt free! (Lifetime TV can be addicting, beware!)
  5. Spend your downtime reconnecting with old friends via Facebook. (I don’t really understand it, but it is neat to “find” people.)

And the best part of being couch-bound?
Hearing my husband say “Wow, I am exhausted. This mom job is TOUGH!”

Don’t sit down just yet dear, there is laundry to be folded! :)

Have YOU been active today? Tell me all about it!

Hehe. I love this post.

I plan on going for a run with the pup. The weather is beautiful and my legs feel rested, so it should be a good one. I’ll put in an extra mile just for you. :)

Uggg, I just went through this, too. Sooooo frustrating. But you’re right, I read four books while my knee was being uncooperative. Take care! (BTW, watch out for HGTV, also very addictive, and I always come away with the urge to remodel my bathrooms).

Yes, there’s definitely some good points to sitting down and resting! There’s always things that need to be done and when you’re couch-bound you can catch up on those things:)

When you’re “in that moment” it’s so hard to remember that it’s temporary, isn’t it? That you *should* take advantage of what you CAN do when you’re down? Glad that you are making the most of your couch time because there will be days you look back on it fondly!

being injured def frees up time for lots of bad reality TV. I can attest to that!
