Hi Tara,

I recommend an 18lb (8kg) kettlebell for beginners. 16lb would be the lightest I recommend.

Hope this helps!

I have been working out with kettlebells exlcusively since January and I am in much better shape that I have ever been. After a month of using kettlebells I noticed a change in my body composition. I have not lost weight since I now have more muscle than before but I have lost 2 sizes and feel much better. Kettlebells are a great way to build strength, burn fat and get a great cardio workout all at the same time.

Teresa,

Kettlebells look like a cannon ball with a handle on it. You can swing them around and do tons of fun yet challenging exercises. The most ideal way to get started is to have a Certified Russian Kettlebell instructor show you. The next best way is from a DVD with lots of instruction and one that shows you how to put together a workout. You can read more about them on my website at
http://www.ontheedgefitness.com. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Dara,

You should give them a try especially if you are looking for new ways. Once you try this you will see why people are loving it so much. Good luck!
