I am shocked at how much sugar is in some of the healthy snacks that we buy. Now I always check before I buy so that it is not just low in fat but low in sugar aswell.

I LOVE FIBER ONE BARS!

Thanks for the tips, especially like the healthy snacks for kids. I gotta start buying string cheese and find those Garden of Eatin' torilla chips. Unsweetened applesauce and sugar free pudding are a staple already in our house. Haven't gotten the Fage yogurt yet.

I've been a label-reader for a long time. But I still buy stuff that's a compromise a lot of the time, because (a) I'm lazy and (b) there are so few tasty, convenient, healthy processed foods out there.

Finding 100% health pre-packaged foods is pretty much impossible at the grocery store, and difficult even at health food stores. A lot of "health foods" are full of white flour and sugar and saturated fat. Even if it's all organic, it's still junk food.

Great post- I signed up for the newsletter. We try to read labels, and sometimes I am amazed at what is in some of the supposedly healthy things!! Especially some of the 'kid friendly' foods- all filled with junk!

I've been eating the Fiber One bars too, In the Trenches! The thing is, I still will eat them, because they've got a ton of fiber and sugar isn't a big issue for me. But I can def see how these little things will add up over a lifetime. This was a great post - I've gotta come up with a fun title for myself like PSCFC
PS Workout Mommy -the TLC expert answered your food Q over at WeightingGame!!
