Wall squats plus one toddler please

by workoutmommy on April 7, 2008

It’s Monday gang, which means it is time for another round of move it Monday! Let’s shake off that weekend and get a fresh and active start on our week.

It’s back to one of my favorites, wall squats. The twist? Add a toddler! Watch the video clip below and be amazed as this super fit mommy does not even flinch. (this is not my video, I found this fit mommy via YouTube)

Your challenge is to stay strong on the wall for at least 30 seconds (without dropping your toddler, of course!) Repeat 4-6 times over the course of the day for a great leg workout.

Don’t have a toddler at home? Try and add some other heavy weight, either a dumbbell, weighted ball, or maybe your dog?

Whatever works and gets the job done.

No excuses gang, get moving and enjoy your energy!

I giggle that I have SOOO MANY videos I cant use because my TORNADO wanders in.

Im all about her anonymity (*sigh*)

the things we do for our kids :) as those MOnday Facetimes are FAR more humorous.

That’s awesome. My kids would probably tickle me or pick my nose or something…

I love toddler strength training! It’s not enough that I’m carrying them around all day but then they have to jump on me every time I get low enough to the ground. The next video should be the 100-yard dash – with a toddler clutching your legs. Better than a sack race!

Thanks for the motivation, Lisa!

ya think this would be possible with triplets? My nieces would be more than happy to workout with auntie Steph. I think my thighs would collapse, but it would be fun…lol…

Cute video! The trick is to have a toddler that will actually sit still, I guess:) …or maybe it can contribute to helping improve your balance if you’ve got a squirmy kid?
Squats make me feel so happy when I’ve done them because you can just FEEL the burn.

I don’t know what’s more impressive…that she can squat with the kid on her lap for that long or that the kid stays sitting for that long! I know neither of mine never would!

That was great. Last time I did wall squats my kid said, “Mom, just go find a chair or something” lol

Stephanie: triplets? wow–you should definitely try it out!

sagan: yes, squirmy kid means extra balance bonus for you!

slacker: I know, my son would not sit still long enough for me to even try. (and screamed HELP as well!)

mommie-that is cute, but mommie doesn’t need a chair when she has powerful legs! :)
