Do you have your weekend “to-do” list handy? Grab a pen, walk over to your list right now and put this on the top:

EXERCISE

Make that appointment right now and do not skip it!

Do we get to skip doing the laundry? No.
Do we get to skip grocery shopping? No.
Do you skip brushing your teeth? Hopefully not!

Therefore, do not skip exercise time this weekend. Tell someone your plan and have them hold you accountable. Drop me a note in the comments or email and I promise to check in with you before the end of the weekend to find out how your workout went.

Here is my plan:
I am taking a spinning class this morning and on Sunday I am running a 10 mile race.

Crazy? Definitely. (The lengths I will go to for some alone time!)
This is all part of my half marathon training and my running shoes are waiting for me by the door. Both activities are in my planner, so I cannot skip them.

Put EXERCISE on your to-do list and get excited about your exercise appointment! No excuses gang

laughed out loud at your LENGTHS YOU WILL GO TO FOR TIME ALONE line.

My Dances with Wolves name is still RunsIfChased but you might have tempted me to try a race or 3!

    “RunsIfChased” TOO FUNNY!

Managed to get my tired butt out of bed for Pilates this morning, and later we’re taking the kids to soccer and on to the playground, where much running, jumping, and chasing will ensue.

Um, sometimes I DO skip the laundry. (Glurp.) But NEVER skip brushing my teeth!!!!!

I actually just talked to my husband about this today and am going to plan in exercise appointments for next week and treat them just like work appointments- I can’t reschedule or miss them. I need to care about myself as a client as much as I care about other clients. Thanks for reaffirming this!

Just came here through entrecard. I have to say it’s a wakeup call again. If moms, Leo, etc, can find time to workout than surely I can find yoga time at least 3 times a week. What I need to do is schedule it like my work. *sigh*

My plan: 2pm tomorrow do a simple yoga workout for about 30 minutes. In the planner.

My workouts are always on my calendar! I begin each week looking for 2 days off in a row, then fill in the workouts around this. I typically work out at the gym 4 days (1- 1.5 hours each time) the one day rest in the middle is necessary, but the 2 days solid rest is the key to it all.

Been doing this for a year now, and it’s truly part of my weekly habit. Working out.. it does a body good!

your right, I recently discussed this point in a post. I know personally, I’m more likely to complete any task if I set it into my calendar.
