I've been curious about the Bosu for quite some time now, but for some reason I thought it was much more expensive. I have a stability ball, so I figured I'd make do with that instead. But that Ballast ball sounds really neat! Kind of like the ol' medicine ball our grandmothers used, right?

I've used the ballast ball; it's really cool b/c it's filled with a sand-like substance to act as a counter weight. It lets you do so many new things that you can't do with a traditional stability ball b/c it doesn't roll. Since it stays in place, you can do things like jump squats around it w/o worrying about it rolling out from under you. Also, the different shaking moves you can do with it provides a great upper body workout too.

You wanna know a secret though? You can just take a traditional stability ball, put a funnel in the air hole, and fill it with a little sand or water. It works just as well, and you'll save yourself around $50.
