[...] Got Crepitus?I had a client that would refuse to do lunges or squats because her knees make a crackling noise as she was doing them. She assured me there was absolutely no pain involved, she simply did not like the sound that they made. …workoutmommy.com - http://workoutmommy.com [...]

I've always wondered about this! One of my lifting partners has this and we always giggle when she does her squats. Good to know:)

I sure am glad my knees don't sound like that when I do squats and lunges! Not to mention it's probably something people use as an excuse NOT to do those exercises (just like you mentioned), and as we know, people are good enough as it is with making up excuses! :)

I don't think I can look at Rice Krispies any more and not think of you and knees...lol...It's amazing how mental roadblocks can get quickly bulldozed once a doctor gives us the a-okay.

LOL...........Because I'm a member of Iowa Avenue's Take off to a Tight Ass Club, I'm starting my lunges and squats tomorrow. I've set the goal of doing 70 per day. That might be kind of high, but I think I can do 10 at seven different times each day.

I'll let you know in a week if my ass falls off..........:)

Oh, my gosh. I was ready to kill you this morning. I don't even know you but I did your cleaning work out. The one with 10 squats per room you vacuum, 20 lounges per leg.... I could barely get out of bed this morning. :) Thank you. I did more of your kick squats every hour today but boy, my back side is sore.

I have it in my left hip. It pops when I do Pilates, and it sometimes freaks me out. I'm going to start teaching it soon, and I may need a disclaimer for my popping hip, lol!

OK, a) why does Crepitus have to sound so creepy? B) it's interesting to learn the name for this - I think I have it in my elbow. Whenever I do pushups, there's a weird clicking noise that emanates from my right elbow on the way down and I swear, it seems so loud, I feel like the gym is broadcasting it over the PA system. It doesn't hurt or ache...just noisy. Damn crepitus!! Thanks for the info, WM!
