Lotsa Fruit!

by workoutmommy on January 16, 2008

fruit.jpgIn my attempt to replace junk food with fruit, I am heading to the grocery store to load up my house with fruit. My cart will be full of oranges, grapefruits, apples, bananas, grapes, and pears. (any other suggestions?)

I will put a big bowl of cut up fruit at the front of my fridge so that whenever I open it, the fruit will be the first thing I see. (no Mr. Pudding cup, you will not tempt me anymore!)

This is my plan for better eating. What is your plan?

Have you been active today? I hope so!

I love my pineapple and do a lot of cooking with it too. Other than that, your list has all my regulars. Like looking for mango, kiwi, and other seasonal berries too. My kids love berries, grapes and apples mostly.

Honeycrisp apples in the summer are ridiculously good. Mango is so good (albeit messy) too. I ate one for b-fast today! And my overall fave, watermelon, is sadly out of season but for 4 months of the year, I swear I go through a gigantic one every four days.
It’s an obsessionn.

We just got some delicious clementines – they are so easy to peel and just the right amount for a nibble in the mid-afternoon.

I’m eating three grapefruit a day, and they are sooooo good!

Very funny. I did the same thing today. I brought home fresh pineapple, cantaloupe (smells good. I hope it’s sweet), bags of grapefruits, apples, oranges and bananas! We already dug into the apples. I’m looking forward to the grapefruit in the morning.

I applaud you for striving to eat more fruit! (I mentioned it just now, actually.) Bring it on!!! :)
