medium.jpgFirst off, I do not work for Kashi, although I wish I did. (If they want to send me free samples or items to review, I’m more than happy to do so!)

I absolutely love pizza and have not been doing a good job of eliminating it from my diet. So I was excited to see that Kashi, makers of some good and healthy foods, has finally come out with a frozen pizza.

Yes, I have tried them all. Weight Watchers, Healthy Choice, Lean Cuisine, etc—they seem to all taste like their cardboard containers. (not to mention they are all made with enriched white flour crusts and loaded with sodium!)

The Kashi brand pizza is different though. Not only does it taste good, it is delicious! So go get your shoes on now and literally RUN out to get the Mediterranean Pizza.

Aside from tasting great, you also get 15 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber in each serving! The crust is made with seven whole grains and flax seed. Flax seed is high in an omega-3 fat called alpha-linolenic acid that has been shown to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

The roasted red peppers , onions, and spinach tasted fresh, not frozen. I’m not a big fan of Feta cheese, but it really tasted good on this pizza. The one thing to watch is the serving size—there are THREE servings in this box. In order not to eat the whole thing (because seriously it was that delicious!), I immediately wrapped up the other 2 portions to save for later.

As you can see from the nutritional information below, if you eat the whole pizza, it will set you back almost 900 calories and 27 grams of fat!

So much to say…I love the Kashi puffed cereal, I make the best crispie treats with them! Next, I love pizza…I do a wheat pita with lowfat cheese and pizza sauce in the oven. It’s a great substitute! That said, I will look for the Kashi version next time I’m in the store…Thanks for the heads up!
