Did you catch the five health and fitness tips from Bob on The Biggest Loser? In between all of the ridiculous drama that has developed on this show, it did offer up some good information.

I have paraphrased them below and added a few of my own thoughts.
My favorite tip is #3, what is yours?

1. Read food labels carefully!

Don’t believe everything you read. Just because it says “low fat” doesn’t necessarily mean it is good for you. Most food items that are low or no fat are loaded with sugar. Look at the label carefully before you buy.

2. Do bicycle crunches instead of regular crunches.

According to the American Council on Exercise, the bicycle crunch is one of the most effective ab exercises you can do. Be sure to mix it up a little though. Do bicycle crunches one day, planks the next, medicine ball twists the next, etc. Always strive to challenge your muscles in different ways so that they never get bored.

3. Minimize the appearance of cellulite with lunges and squats.

This is my favorite tip simply because I love doing lunges and squats. In my opinion, one can never get enough lunges and squats in their day. (How many have you done today? How about doing 20 right now?)

4. Use resistance bands.

You can do many different strength training exercises with a resistance band. They are inexpensive, very portable, and easy to use.

5. Do yoga!

Train your body and mind together for the ultimate fitness experience. Yoga is a very challenging workout. Click here for a mini-yoga workout that you can do anywhere.

When I take the kiddos to the park, I do squats and lunges while they play in the sandbox. I get funny looks from some other moms, but I have a better a**!
