Here are just a few more reasons why you should have at least one apple per day:

  • Apples are the perfect snack! They have no fat, cholesterol or sodium and only about 80 calories each. Compare that to a handful of Ritz crackers!
  • Apples contain both insoluble and soluble fiber. One medium apple (with the skin) provides over 3 grams of fiber, which is about 20% of the daily fiber intake recommended by experts. Even without its skin, a medium apple provides 2.7 grams of fiber. This fiber helps to aid digestion and promote weight loss!
  • Apples are an excellent source of pectin (a soluble fiber) that has been proven to lower blood cholesterol and glucose levels.
  • Apples of full of Vitamin C, an antioxidant that protects your body’s cells from damage.
  • The National Cancer Institute has reported that foods containing flavonoids, like those found in apples, may reduce the risk of lung cancer by as much as 50 percent!
  • Applesauce is a fat free substitute that can be used when cooking in place of oil or shortening. Even your baked goods can be somewhat healthy!

Apples are an all-around great fruit that should be part of your diet everyday.

Don’t delay, go grab an apple right now and enjoy! Your body will thank you!
