Mornings are made for dancing, don’t you think? dancing_kids.jpg

I turned off the toddler music this morning and cranked up some mommy music. My son and I danced around the room for a good 20 minutes, making it a great way to start our day!

Let me clarify though….I really can’t dance (think Elaine from Seinfeld), but my sons do not know that! They just think it is fun to turn up the music and dance/run around the room. I may not look pretty but I definitely work up a sweat and have a great time while I’m doing it.

Yes moms, dancing is a GREAT form of exercise!!!! Do you watch Dancing with the Stars? The transformation of their bodies over the course of this show is amazing! They do, however, admit to working out for hours each day—which I definitely do not have.

I do have time for an aerobic dance DVD though.
Here are some I’ve found online, can you recommend any of these?

  1. Ultimate Bellydance Fitness Workout will I “swivel” my way into fitness?
  2. Learn to Dance in Minutes: Party Dancing I can be in shape for all those parties that I attend!
  3. Dance Off Inches:Sizzlin Salsa probably not for the rhythmically challenged like myself!
  4. The Art of Exotic Dancing: Striptease Series - Pole Work this one was a bit hit with the reviewers!

These are just a few of the many dancing for fitness DVDs out there. I like the fact that I can do these at home and involve my kids in it too. (ok, definitely not #4, but who really has a pole in their house?!)

If you are someone who doesn’t like the more traditional forms of exercise (ie: treadmill, bike, etc.) this is an excellent alternative.

So don’t delay! Go get your dancing shoes on, crank up the tunes (Bon Jovi anyone?), and start grooving.

You see, exercise can be FUN!
